Earth Dragon Totem Mask

I hope this is the right category, i used so many materials on this mask! LOL

TECH DETAILS: So this is the result of about a month's solid work starting with a mesh frame, putting paper overtop, using paper-mache and plaster strips, then base-coating the whole thing. From there, i added many different kinds of acryllic, gold mica for the horns, interference acrylic and self-leveling gel for the scales, which i had to cut out one by one LOL. The eyes are resin which i created the model for by hand out of wax, made a mold out of latex then poured in the epoxy resin to set (Wearing my dual-cartidge mask, PLEASE wear a mask while doing resin casting!). After that, due to minor flaws, the eyes were sanded and buffed (do NOT buff epoxy resin except VERY CAREFULLY since it begins to melt/soften and that releases all sorts of unhealthy fumes) and then i painted the flat back surface with more interference so that it would glow. As you can see, the eyes catch the light and glow very well ^_^ Not bad for my first try with resin casting! The scales are, believe it or not, made of green felt and the dragon's beard is made out of irridescent cloth strips. Not visible in these photos is the back of the head which has a dark green stiffened "mane" of cotton cloth to hide your neck and hair. Unfortunately, unlike my original plan, you cannot see out of the eyes though you do see a lot of gold LOL

This is a ritualistic mask as an extension of my "cyber alchemy" where the element of Earth also represents Plastic. The totem for earth is the Earth Dragon which is basically a wingless dragon with antlers, leaf-like scales and has branches growing out of his back. His colours are green, brown and gold. The horns of this dragon i added some copper interference to symbolize Earth's relationship with Water/Electricity, as Earth/Plastic provides the grounding against electrical surges and storms.

This mask is wearble and i've worn it on a few occasions to show it off, don't have a good picture of that sadly.

Look at how the eyes are always looking at the camera! Simple optical illusion but very effective, i am REALLY thrilled with how the eyes turned out, as you walk around the mask it appears to watch you move, so awesome
