Sperarian Airdrake

I wanted to draw something that reminded me of her goodness, her unfailing love and support that has helped me through good times and bad. Sperare is Latin for "hope" and these slender dragons are about the size of a cat but much, much lighter. They are so light that they don't need wings to fly, instead they float like the lightest gossamer scarf on the breeze, alighting with delicate claws on our shoulders and they sing to us of what we can achieve, what we can become and what we already are. Their soft cry lifts our hearts and we know we can take another step, get through another day ^_^

Tech info: drawn with .03 and .01 black marker, scanned and then coloured in a new way for me, a sort of haphazard "cell-shading" in Photoshop 6
